PK Biodiesel was established in the fall of 2005 by the Purdy family from Central Ohio and the Kohler family from Northeast Ohio. The diverse backgrounds of these families have made for a very effective partnership. Jack Purdy and two of his sons, Tom and Jonathan, have more than five decades of experience in the farming industry. Jack's brother-in-law, Roy Kohler and his son, Keith, also bring some valuable experience to the organization. Roy has owned his own trucking company for more than two decades and Keith adds almost a decade's worth of knowledge in the I.T. field.
Beginning in the first quarter of 2008, PK Biodiesel will be producing high quality B-100 biodiesel that will conform to the standards set forth in ASTM D6751. Once our state-of-the-art plant is built, we will work to become BQ-9000 accredited. Producing a high quality product for our customers is our number one goal at PK Biodiesel.
Our plant will have the capacity to produce five to six million gallons of biodiesel a year. We have the ability to produce the biodiesel from multiple feedstock sources, although it will primarily be made from soybean oil.
